Tiananmen Square

Tiananmen Square is located in the heart of Beijing and is the largest public square in the world, measuring 440,000 square meters. It is surrounded by important landmarks such as the Forbidden City. Great Hall of the People, and the National Museum of China. One of the most iconic features of Tiananmen Square is the Monument to the People’s Heroes, which stands in the center of the square. The monument was built to commemorate the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the Chinese people and their country. It is made of granite and stands 38 meters tall.

Another famous landmark in Tiananmen Square is the Gate of Heavenly Peace, also known as Tiananmen Gate. This gate leads to the Forbidden City and has been the site of many important events in Chinese history, including the proclamation of the People’s Republic of China in 1949. Every morning, the flag-raising ceremony takes place at Tiananmen Square. Many people come to watch the soldiers raise the flag. It is a very important ceremony.
